In Switzerland, there are movie theaters where you can book a double bed instead of a seat /r/ALL

Everyone joking about sex. But really what you would hear in this theater would be lots of snoring.

4.5k

u/seacowisdope 14d ago

No kidding. Ever since my theater remodeled to reclining seats I haven't managed to make it through an entire movie without a nap. Give me a bed and I'm not even making it through the trailers.

1.6k

u/steveosek 14d ago

Isn't getting older grand? I can't make it through a 2 hour movie in any location without starting to nod off. My brain senses any relaxation and immediately triggers shutdown.

770

u/SuspiciousLettuce56 14d ago

I'm 21 and I'm like this and I fell asleep during black panther last week.

Friends woke me up and told me I missed a hell of a movie.

Oh well, not paying 20 bucks to sleep in a movie theatre again

245

u/steveosek 14d ago

Well from what I've heard that's the longest marvel movie after endgame lol.

243

u/Moosemanatee 14d ago edited 13d ago

After watching it tuesday my seven year old spent the rest of the day telling everyone, "I have one thing to say about that movie, it's long!"

88

u/ReadAllAboutIt92 14d ago

I napped twice and cried thrice.

I saw it and loved it. They did a beautiful job honoring both Boseman and the T’Challa character. It’s an exploration of complex grief wrapped around a cool new villain.

If you fall asleep at any hint of a chance you should check for sleep apnea. You're probably not getting rested during sleep and it can be dangerous long term. That or start going to bed at decent hours xD

What kind of boring ass movies have you been watching?

50

u/Daughter-of-Dionysus 14d ago

I fell asleep when my dad dragged me to a Bob Dylan concert 😅 but in my defense we were really far from the stage and it was just so dark and warm and soft

53

u/CardboardSoyuz 14d ago

I fell asleep during a Bob Dylan show, too. I was 16 at the time. Amazing artist and lyricist. Boring, boring show.

6

u/Cat_Crap 14d ago

The weirdest thing to me is that it seems abundandtly clear that Bob hates touring and his fans. It makes no sense. This is my tinfoil hat conspiracy, that Bob made some sort of deal with the devil, that if he stops touring he dies.

Because I saw him like 20 years ago and it was god-awful. I cannot fathom how much worse it is now. He seemed miserable, didn't play any of his "hits" and his voice was so so so bad. Like, not even good-bad like Dylan is known for. He sounded awful.

I was gonna say my missus has a go at me when I fall asleep on rewatches, never mind if we've paid to go out! XD

18

u/SidewalkTampon 14d ago

I have an issue sitting still for longer periods of time so if a movie isn't really interesting, I just start to fall asleep. If it's really warm in the theater, then it's basically guaranteed I'm falling asleep, even if the movie is good. I'll usually get a second wind though if I can close my eyes for like 5 minutes.

My wife hates it with a passion lol but to be fair, if I actually do fall sleep I'll immediately start snoring loudly, so I don't blame her since that would be pretty embarrassing especially in a packed theater.

Even if I'm well rested, once I get onto an airplane or a train for a long ride, my brain knows I'll have to sit still for hours so I just immediately get tired enough to fall asleep. I can almost never get any work done in that type of environment. I need to be able to get up and walk around lol

9

Been using a cpap for years now already, but thank you for the info. It helps a lot with the snoring but not with getting tired in certain situations.

Just had another sleep study done at a new doctor a few weeks ago and was told that I seem to be sleeping well with the CPAP and should continue using it.

"Your friends had a whip round, and paid me to come here and offer you super sex" she said

"Oh wonderful" replied Bill. "I'll take the soup please"

OP was apparently too lazy to state (or look up) that this is a movie theatre called Pathé that is located in a mall in Ebikon, Switzerland (it looks to be about a 35 minute drive outside of Zurich). It is marketed as a VIP theatre with 11 double beds. Description here. EDIT: it is a standard cinema with regular movies.

The one currently showing in the VIP BED theater appears to be Wakanda Forever.

Not quite, Pathé is a chain of cinemas and the one in Ebikon does not have the beds. Your description specifically even mentions the only Pathé Cinema that has those: Pathé Spreitenbach

Better have rubber sheets on those. There will undoubtedly be some extra curricular activities happening.

When I lived in Dallas there was one that had couches and beds and served alcohol. I never went because I thought it was gross as fuck but it seemed pretty popular. The Inwood theater I think it was.
