My unpopular opinion. I wholeheartedly believe that any more than 2 jumping you should be considered a deadly weapon and you should be able to mow em down. This dude is taking care of three kids. It's not in his job description to take shit from sideshow Bob and his gang of crusty the clowns

→ More replies5
u/CyberTitties May 31 '23
It def derail the entire tread for me, now I am trying to understand what version of the Simpsons he's been watching to misconstrue that Krusty was ever a 'sidekick'?!? Perhaps he watched Frasier religiously and the Simpsons only in his periphery so hearing Kelsey Grammer he associated Sideshow Bob as a leader of some sort, it's frying my brain thinking about it. I am going go eat a big burrito and have a nap to clear my head.
7
u/CromDeluise May 31 '23
The guy with hair similar to sideshow bob's was the perceived ringleader. Hence reversing the roles of Krusty and Bob to service the continuity of the joke. This concept might be confusing. I recommend the movie Trading Places if this feeling persists.

u/largeangryredletters May 31 '23 edited May 31 '23
It's not exclusive to retail. We all have Falling Down days
Edit: so people stop coming at me in the replies and dms, adding that I've worked retail, food service, delivery, customer service in person and on the phone x2. Also photography, graphic arts, unskilled labor, computer repair, and general office work not that it matters. Everyone's pain is their special pain and everyone's struggles are unique to them. If yours is currently gainful employment that is terrible, I feel you. I didn't get a job I liked until my late 30s so I hope you find your calling.

I worked retail briefly. I worked in the back so it wasn’t too bad but occasionally had to work the floor. I’d watch as someone would take something I just folded, unfold it to look at it, and then drop it on the floor. Or, dump a bunch of clothes to the side to get to a size on the bottom. It’s like some folks think it’s their job to make others’ lives harder.

I worked night shift at a gas station for 2-3 years and can’t tell you how many times I wished I had/needed a gun. I’ve pulled out a knife plenty of times but it doesn’t make people scurry away like a gun. Good for this dude, he’ll definitely get in trouble for popping off a shot but he stood up for himself. He don’t get paid enough for 5+ dudes to surround and harass him.

"The individuals involved chose not to press charges, and there is nothing to discount the clerk's statement regarding what the five individuals were doing at the time he fired," the Facebook post says. "He felt threatened by the collective actions both inside and outside the store."
In the post, ECSO Sheriff Chip Simmons said, "It just doesn't seem right to me to make the clerk a felon based upon these circumstances."
Honestly seems exceptionally reasonable given the circumstances.
Edit: Obligatory thanks for the gold, much appreciated

Yeah although any cop in a city of any size is gonna be personally familiar with so many gas station holdups and probably some gone wrong. And moet cops lean conservative and support personal firearms , so i reckon when a clerk has a legal weapon and doesnt hurt anyone with it, and like they said: there is nothing that contradicts his claim of feeling threatened, it’s not much of a leap. After all, I guarantee you a late night patrolman would prefer clerks shot at badguys, bad guys learned to keep away, and they(cops) didnt have to keep responding to dumb crime
